B– 006 CONGREGATION OF CHRISTIAN BROTHERS (CFC)
 

The Congregation of Christian Brothers was founded by Edmund Ignatius Rice in Waterfold, Ireland. In 1802 and its constitutions received Papal approbation non 5 September 1820.  The Christian Brothers first came to India in 1890.

The Christian Brothers Charism Statement states thaTel: Deeply aware of the Father’s providential presence in his life, Edmund Rice was moved by the Holy Spirit to open his whole heart to Christ present and appealing to him in the poor.

The Christian Brothers concentrates its attention on the Christian education of youth.
